Privacy Policy

How PDFora handles locally processed files, browser storage, technical data, support messages, and privacy choices.

Effective date: September 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how PDFora handles information when you use the website and its online PDF tools. The current PDF tools process selected documents locally in your browser so their contents are not intentionally uploaded to PDFora servers.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the PDFora website, its document-processing tools, and direct support communications sent to the PDFora contact email. It does not control independent third-party websites or services that you may use before or after visiting PDFora.

2. Files you select

You may select supported PDF, JPG/JPEG, PNG, DOCX, XLSX, or PPTX files for the tool action you choose. In the current release, supported document processing occurs locally in your browser. PDFora does not intentionally receive or store the contents of those selected files.

  • PDFora does not create a public directory of uploaded documents.
  • The core tools do not require an account.
  • Protect PDF and Unlock PDF may ask for a password when you choose those tools. The password is used locally for the requested operation and is not intentionally sent to or stored by PDFora.

3. Processed results

A successful tool operation creates the requested output in browser memory and provides a local download. PDFora does not create a server-side download library for processed documents.

Browser-held source data and generated results are released when the page is reset or closed, subject to normal browser memory management. Save the downloaded result on your own device if you need to keep it.

4. File validation and limits

PDFora validates supported extensions, rejects empty files, applies interface file-size and file-count limits, and checks page selections before processing. Because processing uses your device, practical speed and memory capacity depend on the browser and device.

5. Technical and server information

Like most web services, the hosting platform, reverse proxy, security layer, or application server may process standard technical information needed to deliver and protect the service. This can include IP address, request time, requested URL, user-agent information, response status, and security or error logs.

PDFora does not use this technical data to build an advertising profile in the current release.

6. Accounts, analytics, and advertising

The current PDFora release does not require user accounts and does not include a third-party advertising SDK, advertising placement, paid subscription system, or third-party behavioral analytics integration in the application code.

Some advanced browser tools load functional open-source processing libraries, WebAssembly modules, fonts, or OCR language resources from content-delivery providers when the tool is used. Those network requests may expose ordinary connection information such as IP address and user-agent to the delivery provider, but PDFora is designed so the selected document itself remains in the browser for these operations.

If advertising, analytics, authentication, paid subscriptions, or other services that change data practices are introduced later, this policy should be updated before or when those services are activated as required.

7. Support communications

If you voluntarily email support@pdfora.com, the message may include your email address, message content, attachments, and any other information you choose to send. That information is used as reasonably necessary to answer the inquiry, troubleshoot issues, prevent abuse, keep appropriate support records, or comply with applicable obligations.

Avoid sending confidential documents or unnecessary sensitive personal information in support messages.

8. Cookies and browser storage

The current PDFora application does not require advertising, analytics, account, or subscription cookies for its core PDF tools. More detail is available in the Cookie Policy.

Infrastructure providers may use strictly necessary technical mechanisms for security or delivery depending on the deployment configuration. If PDFora itself introduces optional analytics, advertising, login, subscription, or preference cookies later, the Cookie Policy and any required consent controls should be updated.

9. Sharing and sale of information

PDFora does not receive or sell document contents processed locally in the current release and does not sell support-message personal information. Selected file content is not intentionally published.

Information PDFora actually holds may be disclosed where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or valid legal process, investigate fraud or abuse, protect the service and its users, or establish and defend legal rights.

10. Data retention

Selected source files and processed results remain in the local browser session and are not intentionally retained by PDFora.

Support communications may be retained only as long as reasonably necessary for support, security, dispute handling, recordkeeping, or applicable legal requirements. Technical logs are retained according to the operational configuration of the deployed service and hosting environment.

11. Data security

PDFora uses data-minimization measures such as local browser processing, file validation, interface limits, restricted backend routes, and security-focused response headers. No software can guarantee absolute security, so keep original copies and review important results before use.

12. Your choices

You can choose not to upload a file, close the page before processing, keep your original document locally, or avoid sending personal information through support email. Because the core tools do not use user accounts, there is no cloud document library to manage.

For questions about personal information you previously supplied directly through support communication, contact support@pdfora.com.

13. Children’s privacy

PDFora is a general document utility and is not designed to solicit personal information from children. The core tools do not require registration. If a parent or guardian believes a child has directly sent personal information through support communication, they may contact PDFora for review.

14. International use

PDFora can be accessed from different countries. Data-protection requirements vary by location. Users are responsible for ensuring they are permitted to upload and process the documents they submit, including documents containing personal or confidential information.

15. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when PDFora features, hosting, data practices, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of the page will be revised when a material update is published.

16. Contact

For privacy questions or requests concerning PDFora, email support@pdfora.com.
